Color Guard

Color Guard is widely known as the “sport of the arts” and is intended to visually express mind, body, soul and music. Performers do this through dance and equipment (flag, rifle and sabre). With color guard, the goal is to further develop and tell a story alongside the marching band.

Membership

The ENHS Color Guard is open to any student at Edmond North. Some students play an instrument during the concert band season, while others are from the general student body. Basic dance experience is ideal, but not required. Color Guard members enroll for 1st Hour Band in the fall semester only.

Rehearsal Schedule

The length of the color guard season coincides with the marching band (July-October). Rehearsal dates and times are subject to change. For the most up-to-date schedule, see the ENHS Band Calendar. The regular rehearsal schedule is as follows:

Summer

  • Weekly Summer Training Sessions throughout May, June and July

  • Late June/Early July - LibertyFest Parade Rehearsals (required only if no planned vacation)

  • July 21-August 5, 2025 - Full Band Camp (7:00 AM-3:00 PM, weekdays only)

School year

  • Monday-Friday, 7:00-9:00am - Full Band

  • Tuesday, 5:00-8:00pm - Full Band

  • Thursday, 5:00-8:00pm - Color Guard Sectional

Performances

The Color Guard provides the primary visual element for all ENHS Marching Band performances. These include, but are not limited to:

  • August 5, 2025 - Band Camp Friends and Family Preview

  • All home football games and Edlam games

  • Three to four Saturday contests (late September/October)

Band Fees

We want to ensure that every student has the best band experience possible. Our staff works to find a variety of opportunities to set each student up for success. In order to accomplish these goals, Edmond North High School Band assesses a Band Activity Fee to every student in the band program. This is an all-inclusive fee which covers all required uniform items, food at marching contests, and other necessary costs throughout the year.

For the 2025-2026 school year, the fee will be approximately $500-700 (payable in installments between May and October.
